Robert H. Rockmaker, B.S.
Robert started to fly at the Trexlertown Airport, a grass airfield formerly located across from the world headquarters of Air Products and Chemicals. He soloed at age 16 and earned his private pilot certificate at 17.
He spent over 10 years in airport management at the ABE Airport, now Lehigh Valley International and several years in Fixed Base Operation management. The last 25 years, Robert was Executive Director of the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania, a state based aviation association. 2013 saw the successful completion of the elimination of fixed wing aircraft sales and use tax on aircraft parts, maintenance and repairs in Pennsylvania.
As the Founder of the Flight School Association of North America (FSANA) which formed in August 2009, Robert saw the need for an industry association which would be dedicated to the “Business of Flight Training”. He currently serves as President and CEO of FSANA which is the first trade association dedicated to the flight training industry.
He is an accredited member of the American Association of Airport Executives and past president of the Northeast Chapter of AAAE. He served as national chairman of the AAAE Foundation. Bob holds a commercial pilot certificate with instrument, multiengine, glider and seaplane ratings and has two children.
Robert earned an A.S. in Air Transportation and a B.S. in Air Commerce and continues to study business and aviation management. He believes that the practice of wellness in mind, body and spirit allows people to perform at their peak performance levels in both their personal and career pathways.
